    Paediatric First Aid

Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid - 12+ hours (RQF)
This is the course for those who might have to identify and manage emergency situations or manage minor everyday occurrences when looking after young children. This qualification meets Ofsted requirements for those working in early years settings and uses the Appendix 1 of The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Practice Guidance document criteria for effective paediatric first aid training. The current EYFS statutory framework requires at least one person who has a current paediatric first aid certificate to be on the premises or on outings at all times when children or infants are present.

This level is now the standard of First Aid training for the pre school care sector. Focusing particularly on the needs of children in an emergency setting. With this you will be equipped with a clear understanding of how to check for a child’s vital signs and the accident procedure for any injury or illness. The course comprises 2 units of 6 hours each and is usually delivered over a period of 2 days, but I do also deliver it over 3, 4 or even 6 days or evenings to fit in with your busy day workload.

    Life-saving asthma plan

    Life-saving asthma plan

A written asthma action plan makes you four times less likely to be admitted to hospital because of your asthma. If you’re one of the 3 million people in the UK who don’t have one, simply download the plan and get your doctor or asthma nurse to fill it in with you.

Asthma UK recently updated the action plan, making it more useful and easier to understand. They worked with nurses, doctors, content specialists and designers so that when you or a loved one looks at it, you know exactly what you need to do to look after your asthma.
